The Park

The 15-hectare park is located around the castle. In the summer you can have a nice picnic, play games, read books and sunbathe. In the winter you can experience lots of snow fun. The park is well maintained and has a lot of beautiful natural elements.

Because of its surface you have a lot of options here. Sports for example; you can jog here every morning; a small round is easily 400 meters. For the experienced runners, there are the hiking trails in the forest behind the castle. Do not underestimate these hiking trails because the mountainside is very steep. For the marathon runners there is the forest of Essoyes where you can walk for miles through the forests and vineyards in peace. Cycling is of course also possible. On the central lawn in front of the castle you can also play football, practice golf, ...

Having a nice breakfast or enjoying a glass of Champagne is very recommended. The gigantic 4-century-old chestnut tree in the middle of the lawn is an excellent place for this. Of course there are garden furniture and sun loungers, ... provided.

When you walk through the park, you notice that there are many surprising corners. Perhaps look for the entrance of the 'boar hole', or for the Maria cave or the cellar where bats sometimes spend the night. Have you found the tennis court that has almost disappeared? Or the drained pond that was once fed by the Seine?

Champagne houses

In total you have more than 7,500 hectares of vineyards around you (about one third of the Champagne area), cultivated by more than 1,500 wine growers. An essential difference between the Champagne from Reims and the one from the Côte des Bar is that the one from Reims is a bit more acidic, and the one from the Côte des Bar a bit softer and fruitier.

By using our very long experience and listening carefully to our guests, we have decided to invite our new guests to the best Champagne growers in the Côte des Bar.
